Geology Club

The Pacific Geocentric Society is our departmental geology club. The society is a fun, informal group where majors, minors, and those interested in the Earth & environmental sciences can plan events including movie nights, barbecues, camping trips, find out about unofficial field trips, including mineral and fossil hunting opportunities, and learn about grants, scholarships, professional meeting attendance, and employment opportunities.

Mission Statement:

  • Serve the students and faculty of the department who have an interest in the Earth and Environmental Sciences.
  • Facilitate collaboration between students and faculty in the department and the broader Pacific community.
  • Create and foster awareness among the Pacific community about environmental issues, policies, and concerns.
  • Develop and maintain a network between the Pacific Earth and Environmental Sciences Department and similar departments in other universities.
  • Facilitate Pacific students’ awareness of opportunities outside of Pacific curriculum.
