Our mission is to prepare students to be informed citizens and responsible stewards of the Earth. We use an earth systems approach that emphasizes hands-on and field-based learning to prepare our majors for a variety of careers across a wide range of disciplines. By integrating teaching and research, we prepare students to incorporate aspects of the physical and life sciences and the scientific method to solve a variety of real-world problems. We graduate students that possess an understanding of Earth's spatial and temporal scales, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively communicate ideas.
To support this goal, we offer a wide range of courses and undergraduate degree programs in Geology, Environmental Science, and Environmental Studies.
